First Facebook “Want” Button Released by AddShoppers
by Jon West

We’re excited to announce the highly anticipated release of new Facebook integrated “Want” and “Own” buttons.
Now customers can not only “Like” products, but let others know what they “Want” and “Own.” The opportunity for insights gleaned from this data is huge for retailers and we’ll help you make the most of it.
AddShoppers is the first social sharing platform to be fully integrated with Facebook’s new Want / Own actions for their Open Graph Timeline (backstory here). Just to be clear, we were approved by Facebook to use these Open Graph actions but this is not a “partnership” with Facebook nor is it an official button released by Facebook itself. These are the first buttons of their kind for use on public websites, not shops on Facebook.
Live examples:
Supercharged out of the box:
- Track Wants and Owns to revenue & conversions
- Pinpoint top performing products to market on Facebook
- Reward customers who share
- Easy 5-minute installation
- Free!

Just login to your merchant panel (or signup and we’ll automatically redirect you to the right page), then you just add the codes to display the buttons you want:

So what are you waiting for?

If social shopping ever takes off, this looks to be something that will spur it forward. I just wonder how much these other types of buttons will ever end up taking off though. People are used to Like and Share buttons, but will they really understand all of the other variations? As simple as it seems to technically minded folks, normal people get confused by this stuff pretty easily. Facebook likes have taken off to the point that there’s dozens and dozens of companies that focus solely on this issue. But I sort of worry that Facebook is making the site too confusing for non-technical users. That’s the one big issue I have with all of the changes that Facebook is making lately. And while most of these are for the better and they do have some potential, I believe that the biggest battle Facebook faces is that non-technical users are hard to explain new features to.

I was curious about these buttons, and sent it as an inquiry to Facebook, to which I was told they had never seen these buttons, and that this article is likely false. What’s your response?

Hi John,
Please read the explanation above. I’ll repaste it here:
“Just to be clear, we were approved by Facebook to use these Open Graph actions but this is not a “partnership” with Facebook nor is it an official button released by Facebook itself. These are the first buttons of their kind for use on public websites, not shops on Facebook.”
Facebook has not said whether or not they’ll release an official button like they’ve done with “Like.” If they do then our technology will integrate with that.
Hope this helps!
